Calling all amateur photographers! The Norton Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a Spring Photo Contest. Contestants are invited to submit their best spring photo taken within Norton’s city limits (this includes Flag Rock Recreation Area). Age groups include: 12 and younger and 13 and older. Best photos will win prizes. Contest Rules: Photos must be taken within Norton’s corporate limits. This includes Flag Rock Recreation Area but does not include High Knob Observation Tower. Photos may not be submitted by professional photographers. Photos must be submitted in JPEG format to rmiozzi@nortonva.org. Photographers can submit up to two photos. Only recent spring photos may be submitted. Submissions must include photographer’s name, age group, a brief description of the photo’s location, and the photographer’s hometown. Join us for a 5-6 mile hike in the new Clinch River State Park in St. Paul. Wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Bring snack/water. Join yoga instructor Jen Adams for hourlong outdoor yoga classes at Clear Creek Park and Flag Rock Recreation Area. Clear Creek classes will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, April 6 and 20. The Flag Rock Outdoor Yoga Class will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 24. Cost: Season pass: $65 for 14 classes if registering by April 1. Season pass after April 1: $75 for 14 classes.
